hey, y'all, i am new to the whole tribe thing. :)
i am considering getting that laser eye surgery, and since i have had glasses for nearly my entire life, i sort of feel like it's part of my identity. is anyone else wanting to get rid of glasses, but feeling a little reluctant too? then there's the question of what if something goes horribly wrong!?!

Well of course I'm not a girl, however I've been wearing glasses every since I was about 13 or 14 and now I'm 29. I've always thought about Lasik, I would love to not be able to wear glasses and be able to see perfectly. And there's been alot of studies and research done on Lasik surgey, and the chances of something going wrong are slim to none. I mean the doctor would have to be drunk for something to go wrong, and what are the chances of that?

There have been quite a few (albeit not very publicised, because they usually settle out of court) cases of Lasik going awry. There was a lab in Canada just over the WA border that was doing it very inexpensively, but wound up botching several cases in a major way and got shut down before too long.
I've been looking for a decent doctor to do a different technique called Intacts. Like the Lasik surgery, it isn't terribly invasive, and can be done on an outpatient basis. Unlike Lasik, it's 100% reversible. I'm a bit nervous about my eyes changing later.
